The Thanet Swim School has an extensive range of lessons and works to the National Teaching Plan for swim tuition.  The Amateur Swimming Association, the governing body for swimming in England, set this up.  The programme sets common standards throughout the country and incorporates the development of both stroke and skill techniques.

Fully qualified teachers run all the lessons and they can advise on all aspects of swimming.  The courses are run over a ten week period with four full sets of each course run every year.

Before anyone starts a programme a full water skills assessment is undertaken to ensure every person starts at the right level.  Intensive courses are also available during school holidays and these can help children catch up with friends or improve their skills quickly. 

Thanet Swim School operates from both Hartsdown Leisure Centre and Ramsgate Swimming Centre.  The programme works effectively at both centres and allows for the continual development of the swimmer.
