Fitness Instructor completes London to Brighton Cycle
23 June 2003

Thanet Leisureforce fitness instructor, Adam Gibb set his sights high when he entered the London to Brighton Cycle ride on Sunday 15 June. The event attracted some 27000 riders to complete the gruelling 68 mile cycle raising money for the British Heart Foundation. The start time for some riders was early with the first setting off on their mission at 6am. Adam, a fitness instructor and referral practitioner at Fit Force studios at Ramsgate Sports Centre and Hartsdown Park started his assault on the course at 8.56am. The course is set over some hilly terrain and finishes with the climb of Ditchling Beacon, a 600ft climb with many competitors stopping and walking. Not our Adam, he remained seated for the duration of the ride arriving in Brighton at 2.22pm some 5 hours and 26 minutes from the start. Adam has raised in excess of £200 for the British Heart Foundation through personal sponsors..

Adam said ' the experience was awesome and I am looking forward to next year'.

It must have been the training within Adam's Rpm classes (studio cycling), which he holds at Ramsgate Sports Centre, which helped him prepare for this mammoth task.

Well done to Adam!
