A 24 hour swim is being organised by Duty Manager, Stacey Bowsell at Hartsdown Leisure Centre from Saturday 13th July to Sunday 14th July.
Stacey said ' the aim of the swim is to help raise money for the Marie Curie Cancer Care appeal. We intend to raise as much money as possible in order to help with the support that the charity gives to cancer patients through nursing support'.
'We have held this type of event previously at the centre and they have been a great success'. Stacey continues ' the event is very much based around fun aspects and is open to all levels of swimmers'.
The event will start on Saturday at 12 noon and continue through the night finishing at 12 noon on Sunday.
'The rules are simple' said Stacey ' swimmers can swim whatever distance they like but we must have someone in the swimming pool at all times'.
Stacey has made a personal pledge to fill any gaps where there are no swimmers programmed in. It looks like a long night for Stacey.
