Local chef receives national award from celebrity chef, Brian Turner.

Brian Turner of "Ready Steady Cook" fame presented the "Unsung Hero Award" to Alex Ogunbiyi, Head Chef at the Margate Winter Gardens.

Managing Director of Thanet Leisureforce, Peter Hooker who is a fellow of the Academy of Civic Hosts, was proud to welcome Alex as a new member of the Academy by virtue of receiving this national ward for his distinguished service and outstanding contribution to civic catering.

Thanet Leisureforce should be justifiably proud in seeing Alex receive this award as he follows a former colleague and employee of Thanet Leisureforce who was awarded the Unsung Hero in 2002.

Councillor Jeff Kirkpatrick, Cabinet member for Leisure and Tourism recently wrote to Alex congratulating him, when he said:

"I have admire the work you have done over many years and was delighted to see your skills recognised."
