The 1.6 million facility developement programme lead by Thanet Leisureforce at Hartsdown Leisure Centre was officially opened on 9th April 2010 by British Olympian and World Record holder Mark Foster.

The facilities which include and state of the art gym, 2 aerobic/dance studios and a large children's soft play together with new sports hall floor and cafe and changing areas have been a welcome addition to the facilities at Hartsdown.
